Where insufficient ridge width remains for implant placement ridge augmentation is carried out with Bio-oss and a resorbable collagen membrane.  A connective tissue graft is also sometimes used in conjunction with the Bio-oss to restore the soft tissue contour.
The grafting is carried out either at the time of implant placement or as a separate procedure. Healing of ridge takes between 6-9 months.
